TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CONFIDENTIALITY
Any assignment undertaken by Marble is considered strictly confidential and no details about any Client will be revealed to any third party, unless this is deemed necessary by law. Confidentiality and discretion is guaranteed but we are happy to sign a Confidentiality Agreement or Privacy Policy statement as supplied by any Client.
Marble regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal information as important to our successful operation and to maintaining client confidence. We will ensure that we (and those acting on our behalf) obtain, use and disclose personal information lawfully and correctly. To this end we fully endorse and adhere to the principles of data protection, as set out in the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”).
All original documents or CD’s submitted to us in the conduct of any assignment will be returned to the client once the assignment has been completed and payment received. Data files created by Marble for any assignment will be retained by us, unless instructed otherwise by the client, for a period of six months, after which all data will be erased.
Please note that where our website contains links to other websites or blogs, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites and this statement applies solely to any information collected by Marble. No personal information is currently collected directly from our website. The above applies to all personal information supplied by clients or potential clients, suppliers and sub-contractors.
LIABILITY
Marble is not responsible for the content of any document supplied to us, or for the end use of any document produced or edited by us. Marble cannot accept liability for errors or omissions that appear in the client’s final product for which the assignment is used. Marble retains the right to reject work for any client which includes material we find to be illegal, immoral or objectionable.
Clients are solely responsible for a document’s appropriate use, including abiding by any copyright laws, plagiarism laws and publishing requirements. Clients should not pass off plagiarised material as their own original work. Marble will assume no responsibility for any plagiarised material supplied by a client and reserves the right to return the work should we become aware of such inappropriate use.
By accepting work or services provided by Marble, the Client assumes full responsibility for final accuracy checks of documents, final product or service. Any errors or omissions brought to our attention within 48 hours of receipt will be amended free of charge.
Should any errors be found in the work, Marble is liable for the cost of the work only, no further liability is acknowledged. Any other additions or amendments made by the client will be treated as new work and will be liable to a charge.
A signed booking form and written acceptance of the terms and conditions is required before any work will commence. If full instructions are not given to us, or any changes made clear, no responsibility can be taken for such discrepancies whatsoever if these are not made clear prior to starting any assignment.
Please note: If the client’s original requirements change, we reserve the right, after suitable consultation, to amend the original quotation.
We reserve the right to change turnaround times and prices quoted due to changes in the specifications, quantities, legibility and/or quality of the original or source material, delivery arrangements, unforeseen problems or other circumstances. However, we will endeavour to keep the Client fully informed as to the progress of any assignment.
Marble cannot be held liable for damage to any media supplied by the Client either in our possession or in transit. We advise all clients that original documents should be sent via a traceable method of delivery, either by post office special delivery or courier. All incoming emails, disks, CDs or other media will be scanned for viruses and other malicious programs. Marble will not open unsolicited emails or email attachments which do not have an accompanying explanatory message.
Marble endeavours to scan all emails and attachments sent to Clients for viruses, etc. However, it is the responsibility of all recipients to check text, graphics and attachments before opening the file as no responsibility or liability will be accepted by us.
PAYMENT TERMS
Written quotations will be provided on request but please see our Pricing page for a guide to our fees. A signed Booking Form and deposit will be required before undertaking any project. The Booking Form lists details of the task and any specific requirements, and indicates the client’s acceptance of our Terms & Conditions.
Payment Terms for companies: A company purchase order (or an order on company headed paper cleared with your accounts department) and signed acceptance of the quotation and the terms and conditions is required before any work can commence.
Invoices will be sent to Clients upon completion of the work and payment is due strictly by return from the date of invoice, unless otherwise stated. We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms. If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate of 3% per month on the outstanding balance from the date of the invoice until the date of payment. Marble is not, as yet, VAT (IVA) registered.
We will accept payment by bank transfer, or cash for local providers. PayPal is also accepted although a 4% surcharge applies to all PayPal transactions to cover costs.
We will accept cheques as a deposit, payable to Keith Devereux, but work will not commence until the cheque has cleared. If a cheque is returned by the bank, the client will be responsible for all bank charges resulting from the returned cheque.
All invoices will be submitted in Euros (€) and will be subject to any bank charges related to bank transfers. Should Clients wish to pay by bank transfer in pounds sterling (£), please contact Marble before commencement of the assignment.
For first-time clients, 30% of the assignment fee will be requested before commencement of the assignment. For returning clients, this will be waived after an appropriate number of projects.
If the invoice total is likely to be above the sum of 500€, a payment of 50% of the final sum will need to be received and cleared by the bank before we can commence work. For urgent assignments, a copy of the electronic transfer document from the Client’s bank can be sent via fax as proof of payment.
Payment Terms for individuals: A signed booking form and written acceptance of the quotation and the terms and conditions is required before work will commence. Payment of 50% of the total amount is due in advance, with the balance payable on completion of the work. An invoice will be submitted with the completed work and is payable strictly by return.

Proofreading / Editing
Final responsibility for proofreading errors in completed work (including manuscripts and dissertations) rests with the client. Marble can accept no responsibility for errors found after submission but will gladly correct any found within a reasonable time scale. If errors are found in the work, they will be rectified free of charge but they must be notified within 24 hours of receipt of completed work or within 14 days for work of more than 3,000 words.

INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE
If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our Booking Form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address), acceptance of our Terms and Conditions, and complete and detailed instructions of the work to be undertaken.
We use personal information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. However, NO information about any Client will be revealed to any third party, unless this is deemed necessary by law.
